Yes it is true. There are many colonies of ferral Quakers in the United States. They apparently can handle the colder temperatures of our country, and some states have banned them or placed severe restrictions on owning them. Apparently in the wild their behavior is very destructive, at least that is why I assume the ban and restrictions.

If you do a search on quaker, you will come up with a few links where this topic has been dsicussed before. I think it is really sad as those of my friends on here who have quakers adore them. I wouldn't mind having one myself if I could find one in Australia for a reasnable price. They seem like such sweet, friendly little birds!
