Quaker breeding
I have 2 Blue Quakers that have bonded - I'm considering putting them in a small Aviary. I'm afraid that they might escape opening the door, so I was considering having their wings clipped, a breeder friend of mine said they won't breed if their wings are clipped. Is this a old wifes tale, seems strange most breeders keep their birds in small cages that they couldn't fly any way. Please advise Thanks

What about putting a safety door on the aviary??? Clipped birds can and do breed, however, it is for the hens health to remain flighted.

Hi,I wouldnt personally have their wings clipped as the male flys back and forth continually feeding the hen while on eggs. This makes his job really hard.Mine are in outdoor aviaries and im just extremely careful.Swivel feeders help (less opening of the door) all the best.
