Just got a quaker

Just got a quaker yesterday from petco he/she is 5 months old name him/her kali. I was wondering if i am trying to rush things to much. I am trying to get him/her to step onto my fingers and what not maybe i should give him/her more time to get used to the place and the family not very loud at all. Although you can get him/her chirpping by playing the utube vidoes of other quakers singing and stuff. He/she seems pretty mellow. I am new at birds I just dont want to make a mistake. Any advice to help get he/she used to me and the family would be a big help.

Just be patient. Sometimes it takes a while for them to come around. Hope you enjoy. Quakers are a lot of fun.

Congrats on your new Quaker. I rehomed one a couple of weeks ago. They are funny little bird. Yeah give him/her time to adjust. Talk to him/her as much as you can to get him to get use to you.

We have had a rehomed quaker for about 2 years. She is very cage agressive still. I have read that this is pretty common for quakers. She hates our hands inside her cage but I can get her out easily with a hand held perch. Away from her cage she is very sweet and can be petted easily.
