My surprise

so we were going to wait until next weekend to get this but we worked it out to get him this weekend. Here's our little quaker boy, Charlie (we're contemplating renaming but not sure what to yet). He's a good boy a bit nippy when he is made to do something he doesn't want to (which is everything, lol). He was never taught to step up so we're going to have to teach him that. He rode home on my shoulder and didn't move the entire time. We got Mcdonalds on the way home and he stoled a fry from my hand than he tried to drink pop out of my straw too. He LOVES cages. He saw our huge chinchilla cage when we walked in and jumped on and clung on for dear life. We set his cage up and as soon as we got near he just jumped right in.

I read Parrots For Dummies the whole way home with him squawking right in my ear (quite painful actually). Everytime he heard our windshield wiper squeak he must have thought it was another bird because he just squawked away.

Anyway, here he is, our new little boy (sorry for the size my laptop isn't letting me resize for some reason).

Contemplating an escape route:

Thank you! I am so excited. I hope he likes us. The people we bought him from were amazed he did warm up to me pretty quickly and preferred me over the man's wife (which he loved the man's wife). They showed me how to pick him up told me what they knew about him, they said any problems give them a call, or email and they said if he wasn't working out or whatever they'd buy him back.

Congrats! Seems you've already seen his stubborn side. He'll never grow out of that! ha They are sweeties when they want to be. They are very smart and quick to learn. Good luck with him!

Thank you, I am so happy with him we're going to work on him and any issues he may have but I really don't think he has anything other than normal quaker issues. They were going to use him as a breeder but than they weren't sure that they wanted to breed the female. They said he used to talk when they first got him but he was one of their first birds and as they got more birds he just suddenly stopped talking so they brought him to his mother's house so he could be an only bird.

I am worried he's constantly making a wierd noise with his beak/mouth. Almost sounds like he's grinding his beak but I can see his mouth opening/closing. What could this noise be? He does it A LOT, almost constantly.

They grind their beaks a lot when they are content. Or he could be mimicking something. May need to take him to a vet check to make sure everything is ok. :d

Congratulations! I'm glad you're happy with him. Getting him a week sooner had to feel great. The anticipation and waiting are awful. Don't be surprised if you catch mbs though.
