Stupid Question - Do quakers come in heat?

My blue quaker got "frisky" (best way to put it) last night with my Jenday. I couldn't tell if the Quaker was trying to mount the Jenday or if the Quaker was trying to get the Jenday to mount her. (Neither have been dna sexed....I call the Quaker a Girl and the Jenday a Boy). The quaker puffed up and kept pushing her tail up to the Jenday (before that the Quaker had preened the Jenday on his neck .... he likes his neck rubbed even by me so he also liked it when the Jenday did it). Anyway, then the Quaker would also hold up a leg like she was trying to straddle the Jenday all the while puffing up.....so she would go from trying to straddle to trying to get straddled.....is there way to tell if she is a boy or a girl from this behavior? The Jenday was pretty much just turned off by the whole ordeal and flew to me.

All birds get their hormones. What they do with them is on a indivivual basis.
