One smart quaker

OK Kiwi is 6 months old and has figured out how to open the pair links that we hang the toys with.

The first few times I thought maybe I left it open when I hung the toy.. But nope she has opened them several times and dropped the toys to the floor of her cage. Sometimes the pair link is in her water dish other times it is on the floor tossed out of the cage.. I think it has become a favorite game.

Now even my greys have not figured them out... Just how smart are these little bundles of energy?

I think that one of the best parts of owning birds is this element of surprise! They never cease to amaze us!

I had one that would undo the screws on the feed doors, push them then let himself out. Eventually did the screws so they undid from the outside and he couldn't get to them anymore. He sulked for a number of weeks over that one.

I think quakers are so underestimated for their intelligence and sheer persistence.

My CAG and U2 both love to remove d-links, I've taken to screwing them tight with pliers though I feel bad thwarting their interior design dreams and toy pyramids on the cage floors.
