Talking Keiko

Just got him yesterday.

He's 4 months old, been DNA sexed, (got the certificate too) and is really quiet. He does a seagull noise but it's not loud at all. I've got him on pellets, fruit, seed (very little), and veggies. He will eat anything that's put in front of him pretty much, of course they're all safe foods for him.

Enjoy.. I took a fair few photos lol.

He's beautiful. His feathering is exquisite!.....my blue quaker, Sassy, doesn't seem to like water. I've given her a couple of showers and she "tolerates" them, but my Jenday LOVES showers. I have a shower perch I think I'll try with her next time I have extra time in the shower. Enjoy your new love!

My blue quaker, Sassy, was so quiet when I first got her, I thought I got a dud! I thought she would never talk or even squawk! She would just sit on my shoulder and not make a sound, not move. Boy was I wrong....I've had her for about 2 months and now she chatters all the time, like she's scolding me or talking to herself about what a strange character her mother (me) is. She says Peek a Boo and Hello and last night I heard her say "whatcha doin'?" We're working on "I love you". It's great! She'll probably learn "knock it off" first because I tell her that a lot when she gets mean to my Jenday and starts pecking at him. She's like Jeckyl and Hide....a little angel one minute and a monster the next. Funny little bird, but I love her!

Paralegalpebbles - Thank you so much!

Update on Keiko

He's doing excellent. Yup, he's getting to that noisy stage since he's right out of his shell now. He'll follow everyone around, loves to sit on our shoulder. He says "Hello", "Uh Oh" & "Quack Quack". (as well as saying them when he's right in your face) The last two he's only just started saying, it's so cute!

We're trying to teach him more words, but other then that he's bopping his head dancing and he's full of energy..

This is a video of him dancing and saying hello if anyone wants to take a look! YouTube - Keiko Dancing & Saying "Hello"

And some updated photos of him.. (I got a new Camera LOL)

Oh and I forgot to mention.. he LOVES/ADORES head scritches. When we first got him the man said he's really hand shy, but within 2 days we had him hopping up onto our arm and giving him head scritches.
