Handfeeding a new baby!
While being upset about re-homing my cockatiel, I went and got another bird.. well I got 2 actually. I was given a baby lutino peach face love bird and I bought a baby Quaker - green..
I will post about the lovebird in the lovebird section.. My Quaker is a little girl. I have named her Ginger. She is only a few weeks old and looks like a little space creature, but I still think she is completely adorable!! I have been reading up on Quakers and I must say that I am very excited.  I will post some pics soon. Any advice for a new Quaker owner?

She's beautiful....I am the new owner of a blue quaker, Sassy. She is like Jeckyl and Hyde. One minute, while she's alone or with me by herself, she's quiet and gentle. The minute my Jenday (who has his own cage) visits her, she becomes possessive and wants to peck my eyes out! She's territorial about her cage. Gets along fine with the Jenday for awhile and then starts fighting with him and screaching like a mad bird, so I have to get him away from her (no easy feat!!!). He doesn't want to leave, so he won't step up, but she's mean, so I have to get him away. I have to towel him to get him away from her. After that, I can reach in and pet her. But if I get anywhere near her while he is with her, she attacks. She is starting to talk. She says peek a boo, hello and last night I heard her say "whatcha doin'?" Good luck with your baby. I'm new here too, so I'm not anywhere near as knowledgeable as others here, but I am willing to help any way I can. Enjoy Ginger!

Oh yeah, I've had Sassy about 2 months and she turned 1 year old in April, so she was about 10 months old when I got her from a bird shop who got her as a baby from Florida.

So Im not sure that I love the name Ginger for her.. anyone got any suggestions?

umm yeah, my daughter picked Emma for her name.. and so did someone else who just got one! LOL
