Mess or trouble?

What is the biggest mess or trouble your Quaker has "stirred" up?? I did a very navive thing and took a nap ~ heaven forbid cause when i woke up, half my computer keys were ripped off...not like Frances (if anyone saw that link that Outlaw posted) but it was bad. I learned the hard way...since I don't plan on giving up napping I put in a door to that room :aiwebs_01

He's done lots of stuff, but it is all because I am not watching him enough and he is always looking for something to do. Oh well we're learning together..........

Frankly, my quaker is the LEAST of my mess makers. You haven't a clue how bad it can get until you view your macaw on the WRONG side of a wall! Yup. I've actually had one tunnet through sheetrock on BOTH sides of the wall.

And, when it comes to special prizes, you can't even come clue to a determined cockatoo. Toos and the Caninde macaws are like beavers. Caninde's can go through a 2 x 4 in a day!

I do have one funny quaker story, however. I was napping on the couch and had false eyelashes on leftover from a "glamour shot" session. Anyway, when I awoke I discovered my eyelashes looking up at me. Apparently, Tilde had removed my lashes and deposited them on my chest. It was a bit unnerving.

Smile Oh my!!

Wow I can't even imagine your face when you saw what your sassy birdy had been doing while you were away...chewing through 2 walls...yikes, what a mess that must have been, did you take pictures??
I guess all there is to do is laugh at that one...and oh yeah ~ call a carpenter!
Yeah, thanks for the perspective. Thank goodness the birdy gods didn't give the Quaker the size of a Too!!!
You must really have to watch your kids....do you let them "walk" around the house or???
My dogs have never even come close to destroying anything like what you have mentioned..... I have my own home, but I wonder if any renters have had some incidents....I hope not!!

Actually, I'm allowing them to dismantle their bird room. Its in the planning stages to be enlarged, so I don't really care WHAT they do.

In the winter months when its too cold to let the out in the playroom, I do let them follow me around the house. Its ALWAYS supervised. Otherwise, I'd have to leave Will and find a handy carpenter to repair the damage. If Laurie sees this, ask her to post a photo of her table that her Too has been
"customizing".

Which one??

Left to thier own devices which of your guys would create the most havoc?? Do you have one that "looks" for trouble?

What do you have ~ like a little/big bird train that follows you around the house..or is it one at a time you let them follow you??

I can see why you always have to supervise, with beaks like those they must chomp a lot when they decide to, do they go for the food if it's around?? Don't they fight for your attention...what does a mother do with 10 kids!!! YIKES

Even my Quaker running around the house in the morning while I am getting ready finds new "fun" things on a regular basis.

I am afraid I am gonna step on him one of these days.....cause he is always at my feet looking up at me saying "up". I clipped his wings cause he flew out the door as I left to go outside and I am sooo thankful i got him back ~ I can't even believe it. But that's a whole nother story.

Well, the BGs do line up like little ducks and follow me around the house, stepping on each other's tails and squabbling as they go. I can have the two greys on my shoulders when the BGs are in their cages or the Severe and the Ekkie on me. The quaker has to be with me ALONE. You have a quaker and I think you probably understand why. They think they are bullet proof and always start trouble with the big guys. My YNA also must have me all to herself. She has a crush on me, so even Will has to be very careful coming near me if she's on board.

Actually, even though the macaws are ornery, they do entertain each other, so that's easier than having so many different species to contend with. My TAG is Miss Congeniality. For some reason, they all like her and she can join in any combination without problems.

Kids

It really is like having ten 2yr olds running around your house isn't it?? I love hearing stories thanks for sharing. I bet watching your BG's line up and follow you is always kinda funny, all clamoring for thier spot in line, arguing just like kids, and the part where you have to have certain ones with certain ones....sounds just like my sister who has to do that with her human babies or else a fight will ensue, or at least more likely to:icon_eek:
Luckily you have one happy go lucky bird, yeah the Quaker is a BIG little bird. I do fear for the baby IRN I will be getting next month....I will have to split time between 3 birds and the Quaker is not gonna like it. The Cockatiel tries to get attention, and she gets plenty of it, but he frowns upon that, wait till the new baby!!
Brand new cage for baby IRN, new "better toys" or so he will think, oh dear baby IRN. I can't imagine adding a new bird is really much fun...even with these little parrots.
I really can't imagine how much distress it is to add to a flock of big birds like yours...it must get very crazy in your house.
I may be back asking questions next month about how to stop my Quaker from being a absolute monster when I add my new baby. Is it always more stress for the other birds or may he actually enjoy a new bird in the house??? I have a feeling I know the answer already.......oh I do not plan for them to meet anytime soon, but he'll know someone new is in the house for sure.

Chaska is still a bit young to be a trouble maker, so I better not let her see this post to give her ideas! Nancy, I love the false eyelashes story! LMAO! :icon_lol:
