Lightbulb Birdie Identification!

I've been reading the ID threads, and the one on Rocky and Clover looks...different.

RBF 78. That's all that is on Rocky's. His is plain Silver band.

JC 8431 is Clovers. (MY Boyfriends' Quaker) His is a Blue band.

are these legitimate? I was told they are around 2 years old, Rocky came from a pet store, and the previous owner didn't tell me where Clover was from..

Can anyone "decode" this, or tell me what they think?

Thanks!

Mae

Us breeders are pretty good at screwing things up. Some breeders will put a band on a particular leg for quick ID of sex, most times these have numbers on them. Some breeders use colour to denote the year, others use SS closed bands with their initials and a number, some use open SS rings with numbers that may or may not be specially made. Then there's club rings used more in teh cockatiel and budgie show world.

Not very helpful is it.

Reminds me I need to order some SS personal closed rings for any 'too babes I might get this year. I'm getting them to denote that the 'toos came from me and that they are aviary bred rather then wild caught, yep that still happens here.

Yeah, from everything I've seen, these guys' ID bands DON'T match anything I have seen :-/

These guys can be feral in North America, South America, and Europe...Though they both can be a bit difficult to handle (Clover in peticular) I'm not really sure what to think O_o
