Yes. I obviously do not know from personal experience, but Abby has them according to her signature.

Yep you certainly can get quakers here in Australia. I've got a pair of blues known as Xuxa and Pele aka the blue brats.

If you're looking into getting one then I strongly advise reading the Mattie Sue Athan book "Guide to the quaker parrot". They are later nesters so babes wouldn't be around until late December, although with the weather here in Australia this year everyone is going down early.

Price depends on which state you're in but around the $300 - $400 mark, greens may be cheaper or the same price.

I have always admired Quakers.. When I buy another flight cage I may get one.. :)

I got Bebe from this place Birds 'n' All and I don't think they breed them.. I'll have to look around when the time comes.

So I have gone back to my Quaker thoughts.
Sorry to post in a dead thread but I don't know of any breeders in WA.
I will be making some phone calls next week and whatnot but any suggestions from you Abby? (or anyone in Aus)
Thanksss.

I have this gut feeling that quakers are one that isn't allowed in WA which would explain your difficulty finding a breeder. Let me go fish around my resources and see what I can find. Back shortly on this one.

birde the reason you are having trouble finding quaker breeders in wa is that quakers are illegal in west aust i didnt meen to put a damper on your quest

Thanks Derek.

took a bit of stuffing around but found the list of prohibited species in WA and sure enough quakers get a big A1. No way is entry allowed. Here's the link to the document for you. I'll post this over in the Aussie section too. Oh and you can't have a grey either.
