I finally did it, now I need a name!

I tried for days to resist, but tonight I just had to go and I was just gonna look, at least that's what I was telling myself. I bought my first Quaker! He/She is green, was hatched on 4/20/09, and is now my new fid! He seems very sweet, and I kept him with me for about a half hour after I got him home and got his cage set up, then put him in his cage and he is kind of looking around. I brought home the toys he had in his cage at the bird store so he'd have something familiar in the cage with him. My other fids are on the porch, but I feel that I want to keep this one in the house with me more. His cage is about 6 feet from where I'm sitting now, and when I go to bed I'll roll it into the bedroom so that he can become accustomed to the layout of the house, and also so that I can talk to him for a while longer.

I'm having trouble thinking of a name...I don't know if he's really a male so any gender name will do as long as I like it. I liked Kiwi, cause he's green, but there are a few Kiwi's here already so I am trying to think of something else.

Martini sounds good for a name (even though I don't drink martini's).
Pickles, Olive, Emerald, Irish, .... any suggestions?

I can't wait until tomorrow when I can take him out and love on him again!

Congratulations! Would love to see pics!
Sorry, I have no name suggestions. I'm terrible at the name game.

I am terrible with pictures. My camera isn't that good, or maybe it's me haha...don't know, but they don't come out very good.
So far, he seems to look at me and get a bit more active when I call him "Marko". I started at the "A's", and maybe by the time I got to the "M's" he was just tired of me standing by his cage calling him names lol. It took me a week to name my cat.

Congratulations, Quakers are great little birds!!! I think the name Lima (Bean) is a cute name for a little green bird.

Congratulations! No hurry on the name, I'm sure he/she doesn't mind, probably to busy being spoiled by his/her new parront

Too bad about your photography skills, I like to see 'em & then a name usually pops into my mind

I really like Marko but, of course, my first recommendation would be Tom.

I also like Irish and Martini but honestly, Marko is really pretty cool.

Congrats on the new quaker! They are so much fun, lots of personality! My quaker's name is Kiwi, although I didn't name him that, the family who had him before me gave him that name. It does seem to fit pretty well though, although I have notice a lot of other quakers are named Kiwi...

I also like the name Marko

I like a name that just sort of sticks. I named my Meyers Parrot Oscar (mayer weiner), which is completely unoriginal. But when I tried to change it to something more original, I couldn't. She's now Oscar forever more.

I know what you mean by not being able to change names once they stick! I tried to change Cookie's when i got her, but it didn't happen.. :P

I like Galeno, and Kiko.

Wow, some great suggestions! Michelle, Lima didn't just roll off my tongue, but Bean is kinda cute. Also, it's easy to rhyme...as in Beanie, don't be a meanie, or You're such a weenie, haha.
I got him out of his cage a little while ago to hang with me while I eat my breakfast...he is on my shoulder and his head is tucked under my "bird shirt", and he's just snuggling there. So far he hasn't made a peep since I brought him home, but I've got the cat locked in the bedroom and when I leave for work he'll be able to see the other fids, who are not silent by any means, so he should start to come out of his shell soon.

Still no final decision on the name though.

Tom, if I ever get a hawk, I will name him Tom. Tom-A-Hawk
