How old was your Quaker when he/she started talking?

Basically, that's the question. Jazz is 4 1/2 months old, just wondering if he/she is going to talk or if I would have known by now.

When I got Keiko he was 4 months old and he didn't start talking until a couple of weeks after.. he only said a couple of words like.. "Hello", "Uh Oh" & "Quack Quack".

Keep repeating words, he'll start talking soon enough. Keiko says all different words now and he talks all the time!

They can learn pretty early from what I hear. I used to have a quaker, but she was 15 and I am not sure what age she started talking at. She said c'mere, whatcha doin? tequila! (her name) and giggled, laughed, sneezed. she was a real cutie and her voice was all high pitched and cute like a cartoon character. I still really miss her. have fun with your new quaker

My quaker Ola started talking when he was ~5mos of age with" step up". He will be one in November and he is now starting to pick up on words faster: "hello", " peek-a-boo", " Oh that feels good"(during head scritches), kiss sounds, purrs and mimicks his cage mate Piper(Meyers parrot) calls. Have fun!

Petrie was a year old when I got him and already said a couple of words, but he picked up more and more as he got older. He says all kinds of stuff, some of his favorites are, "You're so CUTE!" "Pretty pretty pretty pretty Petrie" "Quaker Quaker Quaker Quaker bird" plus he sorta-kinda sings the "I'm a little Quaker" song ("I'm a little Quaker / Short and stout" to the tune of "I'm a little Teapot"). He loves playing "Duck duck goose" with Charlie... one of them will start "duck" the other one will say "duck" and they go back and forth until one says "GOOSE!"

4-5 mths is probably around average for their "first word," but late bloomers aren't necessarily poorer talkers once they get going! Give her more time and keep talking to her, she'll probably start talking your ear off eventually.

Thanks, I can't wait! I talk to him a lot, and repeat the same phrases, so it shouldn't be too long. He is not quite 5 months old, and I've had him for about 3 weeks, so we have plenty of time. Such Fun!!

Smile Jackie

Jackie started talking at about 8 months.
She says, hello, come here, tickle, laughs, what r u doin?, come on,
and she dances, starting to sing how much is doggy in the window.
She also say's Kisses and makes kissing sounds.
So adorable and very clever.
