Funny things your birds do.

I know this can't compare with a lot of y'alls stories, but it did strike me a bit funny when I put a new food dish (1/2 coconut shell on a stick) in Jazzy's cage. She was terrified...I calmed her down but she crawled to the farthest-most spot in the cage and scrunched herself up there and wouldn't move.

and yet....

the cat she's not afraid of.

Coconut vs. Cat...hmmm. Well, happy to say she's gotten over it and all is well, but just thought that was funny.

hmm.. funny..

Cookie will wait until I'm reading, or doing something quietly in my room, pick up one of those plastic balls with bells in it, throw it on the ground, and then lean over the side of the cage while tilting her head to look at it on the floor. As soon as i'm bending down to pick it up for her, she picks up a second one and holds it in her beak. As soon as i set the first one back on top of the cage she throws the second one.. And then the same thing is repeated again and again. Its her game, and she loves it :P

I would fill the forum with all the gut busting things my birds do. I have a BHC and a WBC and they do the funniest things ever. Hanging up-side down is a favorite, standing on their head and the oh so fun to watch hopping followed by surfing. My BHC also does the moon-walk with her beak on the floor and pinning.

Our Leo freaks out at anything new, he doesn't even express an interest in toys or any of the stuff that was recommended as things to keep him entertained during the day. I sure hope he starts playing with toys soon, I certainly don't want him to get bored!! He does just like Jazzy, gets in his favorite spot....in the corner and hopes it disappears!!

Hi Birdnew, Jazz is getting better. Still stays away from new things, but checks them out a bit sooner than he was before. I need to make a toy out of some fresh veggies to see if I can get him to eat them.
