Talking New Quaker Mom :)

Finally after so many years my dream has come true, I have a Quaker parrot. I had some difficulty naming him but I finally came up with a name. A title of a song that I really love, my little Quakers name is Siam. When I brought him home yesterday, I put him in his cage and he really didn’t do much, I understand that he is bit puzzled where he’s at. So I gave him some time to get situated. But all of a sudden he jumped off the perch and decided to stay on the bars all the way at the top. When I woke up this morning, I saw that he is in the same position as yesterday. Can anyone tell me what he is doing? I have some pics, which will be great if someone can help me out. Thank You

How old is Siam? He'll come off the side once he feels more secure. Just give him a few days to settle in. I had a quaker that did that when I first got got him and after a couple of days- he came down and started exploring.

I don't have a quaker, but my conure Skyy did that for the first few days I had her, then she started exploring her new cage.

Well, Siam is about 4 months old and he also shakes his head and wings in a begging behavior for food and attention too. It is so cute when he does it, and he really doesn’t bite just nibbles just to see what my hand is. Also great news, he stop holding on to the cage bars and is now on his perch. I took him a bath today and now he’s resting from having too much fun.
