I Love My New Quaker!
Hi! I'm new here (actually I was around in other sections for awhile a long time ago, but only a little and couldn't remember my info!) and just wanted to say HI! I've been into parrots for ahile but am NEW to QUAKERS...and I am hooked! Why didn't you tell me sooner?
 I got Toby a week and a half ago. He's a 2-3 year old green Quaker and was handfed but hadn't been handled in a long long time because of the previous owner's illness. So he came to us fearful-aggressive and very bitey. In the beginning I bled a lot.  I was even almost wondering if I had chosen the right bird. But since then he has turned around so quickly! I can't believe how smart and funny he is! He's already completely tame, will not bite me no matter what I do, listens and responds to a firm "no"...it's way more, and faster than I ever expected. I am surprised and THRILLED! He's just SUCH a good boy already!The family Toby came from had to give up all of their many birds (they bred Quakers until the illness) and also sent us home with a really cute sweet cockatiel girl (who still needs a name). In addition to these two we already had another tiel (Ducky), 5 budgies (4 parent-raised, 1 handfed), a superdog, bunny, hedgehog, and 2 rats. For some reason I thought they don't keep me busy enough so here we have these two!  Anyway just wanted to introduce us and say hello and tell some other Quaker lovers how happy I am with my birdie after just a week and a half! Looking forward to chatting with you about all the Quakery goodness!

Congratulation
 on your green buddle of joy, Toby is adorable. Thanks also for the comment on my new arrival. Siam is my first and I’m so happy to have him in my life.
