Noisey

Hi.. our Quaker " Yoshi " loves to scream very very loud every morning..which seems to be every morning..why does he do this ? We give him his bath early..but doesn't always help to keep him quiet. We take him out of his cage..and he is fine..but we can't always take him out..and we can't just let him out and leave him out..we have to be there with him..so he doesn't get into something or get hurt some how.. Does anyone else's quaker seem to yell none stop ? Maybe were doing something wrong..or maybe there is something we can do..or maybe this is just the way he is going to be. We love him to pieces.

Do you go to him when he screams? if you do, you could probably just be giving him what he wants.. He'll have you trained to come see him whenever he screams! LOL!

Birds make noise.. there's really no way to get around that, lol! Cookie and Toc are relatively quiet, but make make lots of noise in the morning when they wake up, and in the evenings.

By the way, Yoshi is ADORABLE.

Well he is a quaker. LOL! I would make sure you rocate his toys frequently. Give him lots of foraging toys. There are so many homemade ones. You might even consider introducing a new toy or foraging toy when you uncover in the morning. As soon as you hear a few seconds of no screaming go to him and "Good boy!" and give him a treat. If you hear him play with a toy or forage, tell him good boy again. Lot's of praise for good behavior. No attention for bad.

I got my baby about two weeks ago... she has her times where she doesn't stop. It's mostly when I'm downstairs with the family. I believe she's telling everyone she's here, and this is her place. lol

Quakers can get noisy that's for sure.

She'll also chirp when she's hungry, has to go to the bathroom or wants to play.

Are you doing any training sessions with your bird? When i bought Leo (my quaker) i had researched extensively and was very worried about behavior problems......i came across Chet Womack's training program and invested 60 bucks on his material. I haven't regretted it. Check it out for yourself you may want to make the investment too. the website is Birdtricks.com.
