Quakers do enjoy hidey huts to sleep in. They do play with small foot toys and are avid chewers of everything! So soft woods, leather and wicker are favorites. Hanging toys are good. As far as food, each bird is different, process of elimination.

Ditto to what Greycloud said. One of Jazzie's favorite toys is one of those cat balls with the bell inside, and I tied ribbon to the holes in the ball, and curliqued it like when you gift wrap something. I hung it on a perch, and she loves to preen the ribbon strips.

I think they are all different. Since mine is handicap she can't use foot toys. She really likes noisy things and loves all food. She's NOT a picky eater. She loves her millet and seeds.
She likes to play with the balls like the person above me said with the bells. She loves to chew up magazines. She's a little nippy but that's when she wants to play, but it's more of a play bite then an actual bite. It doesn't hurt at all. She's not a big 'chewer' but she's still little. Mine is a real sweetheart but it might be because of her problem, she LOVES to cuddle. She'll climb up to my face and rub against it and then she'll talk to me until she falls asleep. She's a keeper that's for sure. :) But like I said it's all going to depend on the breeder, previous experiences. And all are different. |
