I don't own a quaker, but I'll tell you a few things... The best diet for a quaker is one preferrably without food dyes (so a natural pellet), with perhaps some seeds, especially sprouted seeds, and lots of fresh foods, such as grains, healthy beans/legumes, veggies, some fruits, etc. If possible, it would be best if fresh foods took up at least 25-50% of the diet, if not more. You are also looking for a diet that is lower in fat.

Now the best out there? There's a lot of arguements here. Except for my cherry head conure (who's on a special Roudybush diet), I give all my guys Zupreem. Given a choice, however, I'd have them all eating Roudybush, TOP's, or Foundation Formula. A lot of people rave about Harrison's, as well. These are usually considered "better" or "the best" brands. Some other good brands would be Zupreem (I really don't like the fact that they add sugar to their diets), Lafebers, and a few others. Personally though, I'm not a fan of Kaytee, Pretty Bird, Browns, or some of the other brands found in many petstores.

I feed my quaker a pelleted diet (ZuPreem) for the most part. He also gets a little bit of seed and fruit. He won't eat veggies, but I wish he would. I also give him oatmeal and black walnuts that have been deshelled. He loves those!

I feed my Quaker a mix of Zupreem pellets, Harrison's pellets, seeds in his treat dish on his playstand. I've tried a number of veggies, and I'm still trying...so far he's not really too interested in them.

I feed Opey Roudybush pellets and he loves them , he only gets very small amounts of seed and I feed Higgins Mayan Harvest because it's great seeds with no sunflower seeds and it also has a some nuts and dehydrated veggies in it I feed Higgins to all 3 of my parrots , also try adding a teaspoon or 2 of sweet potatoes baby organic food to your veggies, rice or Quinoa and watch your quaker eat it, Opey wouldn't touch veggies before but he sure will now, they love sweet potatoes :)
