Nina - congrats on the new baby! I saw them there but had promised hubby I wouldn't come home with any new fids and I kept my word. The cages were great priced though!
Anywho, congrats!

Thank you! We were looking at the green ringnecks too...but they would've taken WAY too much training, and I felt like they wanted too much for them. So you saw the blue ones? Were you there when one of the Blue Ringnecks got away? And the little quaker babies that were close to the two military macaw babies? They were TOO CUTE! I wanted to take all the quaker babies home!! I almost bought my conure a new cage, I had the guy talked down even further, plus no tax, but I really didn't have the money for 2 new big cages, but I got his card (in case you decide you want one too, let me know, I'll give you his info). I also had a ball playing with the green sided eclectis in the back corner..he kept giving me kisses. There's another (bigger) show in Mobile next weekend i'm going to...I went to it last year and it was a REALLY good one.

Cages, Flights, Aviaries.................
Ok you two. Don't be buying any cages before checking with me now! For our regular board members here, I will do my best to get you a fantastic price on almost any kind of cage ya want, I don't believe anyone can beat my prices/offer. I got some connections.
Even slightly better prices if ya buy more than one cage. Let me know what type you are interested in and I'll get back with ya regarding a price but ya will have to drive down to pick up in the box(s) and assemble yourself (actually quite easy). However, I do charge $25-$35 btw to assemble for ya (if ya like), heck I gotta live too and it does usually take about 2-3 hours per cage depending on model #......The drive would be worth it especially if ya pick up a few at a time. Maybe even Joanie or other Floridians along the way might want in on a deal........Papa Joel... :) I just now called a buddy of mine and he said he would be willing to ship to ya but of course that means ya have to pay the shipping charges and something for him to go thru the trouble but still will be cheaper than buying yourself....Let me know if I can help anyone here......... :) |

Joel, how 'bout if you assemble it for me, I'll bring you dinner? I do need a new travel cage for Dewey, I like the one I got for Bebee better...so I need another one. I'll e-mail you a pic of it...and a pic of Bebee's big cage...if you could see what kind of deal you can cut for me, that'd be awesome...not to mention a good excuse to finally meet you!

Hi!
I haven't talk to anybody for a long time. Joel helped me once with advice! I jsut bought a ringneck, too. I have been his mommy for 3 month already, but I still think he is a baby. He's just 5 mo old. He is hilarious. I can tell you advice though about toys. I will take Resha(that's his name) to the store, and he will pick his own toy. I just bought one recently without asking him, he is not playing with it My babe is already laughing with my family so hard, that it looks like he will talk soon. I hope 8)

Awwwww that is too cute!! I love ringnecks! They make such smart pets! have u tried to show him a mirror yet? as a treat I sit Cai infront of it and he loves it and displays to it! Eyes flaring arms out clucking LOL and saying stupid stuff like "can u groove? gooo goo gooo Yeah!!" and "are you a greeen bird?" lol oh just wait they get better and better with age! Do you know for sure it's a boy?
Oh about the toy thing LOL mine is the same way let them choose their own toys otherwise it's a no go! although one thing cai does like is sturdy cat balls strung up on a cord with ribbon, cord and sometimes treats. It will keep him busy for hours. Anyways I hope to see more pics of your beautiful baby! |

It is a pretty bad picture. It was when I was giving him a bath. He is so funny. We do have a joke in our family, because I am sure that it is a boy, becasue only a boy can act like that
I am kinda upset about mirror. He does not like it. After soem time I will show him that is good, pet him, after that he will be nicer to mirror I will try to get a better pictures of him. He is adorable. If you have any suggestions to teach him something, please let me know Thank you. ![]()

I've always been told that birds (though VERY, VERY smart!) don't understand the concept of a mirror, that they think it's another bird, and that if they have prolonged exposure to mirrors (i.e.- in the cage) that they bond with that "other bird." So, I've always kept my birds kinda away from mirrors, though occassionally I'll let them play in front of the mirror.
I had to evacuate with my ringneck (and the rest of my flock) and he's been SO QUIET, andSUCH a good boy! He is the most violent bird I've EVER dealt with though, but he's getting a little better. I think he was mistreated or picked on by the other birds when before I got him (he had been living with the breeder).

Hey guys terribly sorry I did forget to mention it is only as a treat my ringneck gets to sit infront of the mirror. I would never leave one in his cage!! I am sure that it would stress him out and make him feel his space is invaded. It's just fun to see thier outgoing nature and them goofing off infront of the mirror once in a while. Good point though! Sorry about the misconception.
