Wink Eddies jungle gym

This is a frame my son Eric and I made one afternoon. It is four pieces of MDF that we jigsawed into spape the glued and tacked together. We cut off a piece grapefruit tree and glued it on.
We cable tie a pinecone on and he loves cheving on it and as it opens he gets the seeds, I'm sure he loves it he's always chewing something on there and is slowly debarking it all,He whistles and churps all the time when he's up there and loves to sleep up there.
We nailed it in up the corner of the room and the bottom tray keeps his Love nuggets off the couch. When the branch gets to ugly or he needs a change I'll cut a new branch and change it
It was very easy to make and well worth it. He loves looking down on us and flies down when hes had enough.

Thumbs up

I think its a great idea - & very handsome - quite artistic - - it shows off your bird very well. The branch is just right & the bird looks happy.

Will/can he chew the MDF? I don' think that would be good....

Is the whole thing fixed to that wall or is it mobil?

I painted the MDF with water based house paint and he hasn't touched it. he grabbed the edge and used it to climb to the curtain but won't chew it, that was one reason for useing brown paint. To see easily if he was getting any paint off, but as soon as he's up there he climbs onto the branches and chews them. I just nailed it to the wall but left the nails sticking out, I'll pull them out to take it outside to clean it. Then put screws back in because the pilot holes will already be in the right place!

Check out 'George did it again' frome the Cage forum - I directed him/them to your thread because they also build great stuff for their birds.

Again - I really like your idea & execution - I'd love to build one in my parent's sun room (that's not actualy sunny because of the trees) for their tiels.
I'm glad to hear about the precautions & that he thinks the branch is more exciting to bite - I think it's probably an asset that it has clean lines & isn't as interesting as the branch. Having it mobile or building more is great too.

His name is thunderwing doomslayer, but we call him eddie! He is only 6 months old but quite a character. He is wolf whistling beautifully and trying to say hello, but it's not clear yet
