Question Blue Ringneck Parakeets

hi people i am new here ihave lovebirds,guina pigs,turtle and fishes as pet now i want to get blue ringneck costing 8000 rs in our currency,they are 5 to 6 month chicks and are banded also tamed. should i buy those chicks. those chicks are bred from India's well known breeder. so what u think should i buy. i am having two minded. i am also afraid that if they die will lose 8000. and people who have experiance pls tell how to take care and breed.

As a current Ring Neck Ower (owned by 2) do your research before you buy. If you are in doubt don't purchase the birds.

i had done full research but problem is that in india there is no bird vets.pls pls tell about ur experiance with them.

Welcome to Bird Board. I am going to take the liberty of moving this thread to the ringneck forum. I think you will find quite a bit of advice there. We have quite a few members with ringies and your questions are welcome. They are wonderful birds -- a bit stubborn, but a real joy. I would not give up my two for love or money!

I have been lucky to have to have two healthy birds. Just regular check ups nothing serious. A normal diet of fruits n veggies and nuts, lots of play time, and toys, and they are stubborn! Noisey and loud, a bit snippy too.

i had owned many animals and birds but that time i was not knowing how to see if bird was sick or not, now i know so thinking to buy tomorrow.

look for a clean vent, good feathers, other than that visual inspection, there isn't a whole lot you can look for, if its acting funny, laboring movements or something then that would be a sign of something wrong.
