How much sleep should he be getting?

I noticed that Ace has been sleeping alot the past few days, I am assuming its catch up from the traveling he did and settling in to our place.

But I was wondering how much sleep should an IRN be getting regularly? I think I read somewhere that he should be getting 10 -12 hours of quiet dark time at night. Unfortunatly that is close to impossible considering we live in a small apartment haha.

We are gone from the house early in the morning and my husband doesn't get home until about 4pm, where the house is quiet. He probably gets about 8-9 hours of sleep at night, so I am assuming he should be okay on his sleep right?

Mine used to live in the house with me (and I am lucky if I sleep six hours a night, and being covered when someone was wandering around the house was just an excuse to holler until all the other birds were awake) and now live outside (where they wake up at o'dark thirty), and seem perfectly happy. They will nap in the day if they are tired -- I think they are okay as long as they have enough quiet time to catch up!

Its suggested that they get 10-12 hours of sleep. I'd say mine only get 9-10, they wake up on their own, and once one is up and doing their morning call, the rest don't sleep through it, nor do I lol. Its not uncommon to see them sleeping during the day though, they take little naps.

Depending on the time of year most of my birds get 9-14 hours of sleep.... and I don't cover cages... the majority of the birds wake and go to sleep with the sun.
