Quiet IRN?

I keep reading about how loud IRNs are, but Ace has made noise probably about a handful of times since we got him on June 13th.

If he does make a noise, its the typical IRN call, once, then stops (usually happens when we leave the room).

Is it because he is young that he isn't very loud? He is just so quiet.

He may be a quiet ringie, but he will learn to contact call eventually (mine are very vocal at sunrise and dusk). I actually don't think they are terribly noisy.

I believe he is calling YOU when you leave the room. Just wants to make sure your still there. Always answer him back so he knows your there.

May take time, i had a cockatiel that took almost 3 months before it would do its call, and he was 4months old when i got him home.
After he started doing it, he would do it regularly every day.

While the Alexandrine i have now, started doing its call in a week! (7 months old at the time) after i got him.

LeMonjello - our IRN rarely ever makes any kind of noise. He sings quietly - and he is EXTREMELY talkative - but not in a loud tone. He loves calling his name, and calling the other birds. If it gets too quiet and he gets bored he say "What are you doing?"... But in terms of being loud, having a loud call or screaming - I can EASILY count how many times he has screamed in the past two years on both of my hands...

Not really... but it wouldn't be many times over that. He's the most talkative - and the most emotional... but probably one of the quietest...even when he is talking and having singing/talking fits...
