Scarley & Ringo outside

Good afternoon/morning/evening everyone! Wow a day off for me! WOOHOO And I slept past 10 this morning too!

Well since I am off and have nothing to do but care for my babies, I took Scarley and Ringo outside so they could get some fresh air, it's over cast not too hot (yet) and to clean their trays. I'm waiting for the room mate and her husband to be (getting married tomorrow) to go do their thing before I started taking stuff apart on the small deck.

So the roomie and beau finally leave, and I pull the water hose out. I stretch it across the deck and wedged it between the cages, and created my very own red-neck mister. See the photos below.

And boy, did Miss Scarley love it! ! ! !

AND SHE WAS SHAKING HER TAIL FEATHERS....


THE MIST WASN'T ENOUGH SHE HAD TO DUNK HERSELF INTO HER WATERING DISH....

I guess because I wanted him to act up and play he wouldn't!

And the best part about the 10 minute misting,,,,,I turned the hose from mist to spray, and rinsed allllll the poop off of the grates, sides of cages, and toys w/no detergents of any kind, it was soft and washed right off and to the ground!

They had a field day! 30 minutes after bringing them in, the bottom fell out! ! ! ! So I am glad they had 2 hours of outside time.

I never thought of that of the whole redneck misting idea, especially in regard to cleaning without detergent.

The bottom fell out? Are you saying your day off was ruined. I hope nothing bad happened. You need a good day off and some down time.

That is awesome! I love bathing birdy pictures!! I wish that some of my babies likes getting a bath a little bit more! Some of them love it... while the other loath it... It's weird how it is one extreme of the other...

But you got some great pictures - and I loved your method. Very cool...

Nope Tom, my day was not ruined! I spent time with the Fiddies, got laundry done, ironed my clothes for the weeks, and laid my sorry behind on my bed with two cats and Scarlet and watched the first season of CSI: Miami....it was a good day!

I take my large cages outside and do the mist/clean as well when it is warm. Last time one of the casters on my cage fell off when coming inside!!
