I want an IRN!!! Can't find breeder!!

I am having no luck locating a ringneck breeder in south eastern CT. I am willing to drive, but don't like the idea of shipping birds. Any help is appreciated.

Hello!

Here in the Northeast it is almost impossible to find a breeder, I am in Southern NY (Rockland/Orange County). I had mine shipped, shipping cost $110 and it was a great experience. Ace is healthy and happy!

I had him shipped from a small breeder named Tom Williams out of Alabama.

Got both of IRN's from here in GA too....and love the demons, I mean darlings too death! Check your local craigslist, seems to be a hot spot for birds needing a new home.

How does the shipping work? Are the birds safe? I am getting the feeling that shipping is the only option I have, but I don't want to take the chance if it is not safe.

get intouch with MABIRD, she has an IRN she got from Cali from a breeder and she lives in NH....and she had NO problems with shipping and her baby is just peachy! Or get intouch aces wild and ask her as well.

Shipping is very safe! The breeder I went through shipped Delta and things went very smoothly. He was shipped in a small cat crate, it had a bar going across it for him to perch and he had wet pellets in there for him. His feathers were perfect, he didn't have any effects from the shipping at all. He slept a good amount for the first couple of days, catching up from the trip.

If you go to birdbreeders.com you can find alot of IRN breeders on there who ship (look under parakeets). If you PM me, I can also give you my breeders e-mail address if you want to see if he has any babies available or babies that are being in the process of being weaned.

I spent $310 total on Ace ($200 for him and $110 for shipping). My local pet store here is selling a Blue baby IRN for $799... just for the bird!

I was fortunate and got my IRN Zulu from a Wildbird Rescue and I really lucked out. I love hime to pieces. You might consider this. Gave him a new lease on life and extended mine.

Hi- I am from Upstate NY and got my IRN from Livingston's Animal Kingdom five years ago. perhaps if you call them they can give you the breeders name. I think it was Jennie.(607) 724-4686. Just an FYI- my guy was really a handful when i got him- but now a sweetie. It took me about three years before i could 'pet' him- but that may have a lot to do with my timidness.
I hope this doesn't break any rules... I am not affiliated with them in anyway!

I just searched birdbreeders.com and all I was able to come up with was:

All About Parrots
Franklin, CT 06254
860-886-BIRD (2473)

You can try to search the site a little more and see if there are any other breeders in surrounding states. Also, check craigslist and petfinder.
