I'm back from the breeder!!

Hi All,
I am back from the breeder and thought I would update you all. For those of you that don't know a breeder that I have bought from in the past contacted me and wanted to know if I was interested in one of her "no longer tame" ringnecks at a discounted price.

Anyway, I did in fact come home with one. She is very scared and timid, but did warm up a little bit while we were still there. I was actually impressed with how she settled down and was actually sweet so quickly. I believe this one will be a very nice pet once she is tame.

Right now she is hanging out in her change checking out her new home - she is super quiet, but hopefully she will get used to her new home soon. Once I see that she is a little more relaxed I will slowly start the taming journey with her. I am very happy with my choice and do believe she will make a nice pet in time.

Congratulations. I'm glad everything worked out so well. I think it is always a good sign when everything falls into place like that.

Of course I'll be the first to make the request: Any pictures?

I'm so glad! Ringies are such great fun! Can't wait to hear (and see) more about the new arrival.

Her first night seemed to go pretty well - she is still very quiet and not very active, but I am sure that will change soon. Everything is still new and she is still getting used to the new cage, home, and everything else.

I was a little bad tonight though - I couldn't help but work with her a little bit. I just could resist. I do have to say though that with just a few times tonight of working with her that has already been progress made.

At the breeders all the rings I saw were toweled when I held them, but she was happy enough to allow me to give her head scratches without trying to bite. So, I got her back out with a towel and did some more head scratches and she was good. She has even begun to take some treats from my hand. At first she would lunge at me trying to get the treats and now she will take it nicely. I was even able to hold her and pick her up tonight without the towel. Oh and she will allow me to give her kisses on her head and beak without biting. She did bite me a few times tonight, but they were not bad bites - they actually didn't even hurt much and felt more like a "i'm unsure" bite then anything else. I have been bite really hard by some mean rings, but she barely got me.

I am very pleased and happy with her - I really feel we have gotten super far in just a short amount of time. She is about 4 months old and was hand fed, but hasn't been touched since she was weaned. I do believe she will make a very nice and sweet pet in no time.

I just look forward to tomorrow where I can work with her some more.

I have a few name idea's, but still not quite sure.

On another note: She continues to do well and is settling in very well. She has started to play with some of her toys and seems to be making herself at home.

As for the pictures - I haven't taken any pics of her yet, but will hopefully get a few of her soon and post for you guys. She is adorable!!
