Brace Yourself! U Must Sit For This One!

I came home today from work, and my babies are YELLING! Ok, why? Cos I'm gone all day? Nope, both of my screwballs have knocked their food dishes down. No food all day! The rats!

After feeding them, I was about to get Scarley and take her outside as I have been doing for a 10-15 minute walk with the dog with 1 inch legs. Just to get some fresh air. I noticed something about Ringo. Everytime I go near his cage he drops like a rock to the bottom of the cage and run! Ya know if I had ever hurt him in any way I could see why he would be terrifed of me. But I never have and he is. I've accepted it.

The thing I noticed was blood! I must chase his little speedy butt down and grab him. He's broken a blood feather and it was just hanging there. I got it out, and washed him off. Well he was cold from the mad rush under the water spigot. I wrapped him up in a towel and held him close to warm him up.

Well Ringo climbed out of the towel and ran up my shoulder! I was stunned! I mean paralyzed STUNNED! I got up and walked around and he just sits there! OMG! MY BABY IS ON MY SHOULDER! OMG! OMG! Do you know how happy I am!

check it out! he's on MY SHOULDER! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO

AND NOW I PRESENT TO YOU.....RINGO on my shoulder (pay no attention to the fluffy human!)

Great, but please be careful going outside with an unrestrained bird, you could lose him.

Does this mean you won't be needing the dog with the one inch legs anymore?

Not only is he on your shoulder- but tight up against you!
I have heard about these kind of stories - the lion and the thorn stories- they seem to reconsider their position about you once you have helped them out of a crisis situation.

Disclaimer- when I tell this story- I already know I was an idiot:

We had fruit flies and Tawheed was fully flighted. I set out a couple of those circular traps- the ones you put food in the middle and the trap wraps around the food.

One day, from the kitchen, I hear my husband screaming "come quick- its an emergency!!"

Tawheed had landed on the counter and his body and wing were wrapped around the glue trap. (Like an idiot I had put his favorite food- green apple- in the center)

My husband was trying to catch the flapping, biting, confused scared 'shi.tl.ess' bird. He just couldn't.

I said a quick prayer for less pain and decided I would just have to endure a bone crunching bite. I grabbed Tawheed and like a bandaid, wripped the trap off. Miraculously he did not bite me!

From that day on.. well Cagney said it best... 'it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship!'
