Talking Scarley new to Neighborhood

Well you all know I have moved and i'm out on the lake. about 2 and half miles from the house is "the marina" which is the marina and a store. I wanted something to snack on so I grabbed mizz attitude and took her with me. We needed that mommy n me time. Oh she was a joy, telling me the whole way, I'm a pretty bird! Of course me being mom has to agree!

So we get to store (all of 3 mins to drive there!) And she is perched on my shoulder. We walk in and it's like everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to looked at me and my bird. I turned around to see if a robber may have come in behind me, silence isn't something I normally get when she is with me! The little guy behind the counter asked, "is that bird real?" and on cue, Mizz Scarley let out an ear piercing scream only mom could be proud of! LOL YOU GO GIRL! A gentleman in line stated, "sounds real to me!"

So we're shopping, I grab some pop corn to pop for them and it's like she knows it's hers, i'm having to wrestle the package from her beak. I'm standing there, "no no, Scarley, we must pay for this before you eat it honey!, stop that! NO!" And everyone is staring at me! And the lady in there said, "aww isn't that cute she talks to it like a child." "Uh ma'am she IS my child, she doesn't know she's a P-E-T" Of course I have to spell the word out so Scarley didn't know what I was saying.

So anyway, Scarley and I got to meet the nice folks at the Marina today. they were ok with her being with me, and asked the normal questions, breed, does it talk, how do you know it's female (and i replied, she lifted her skirt tail and showed me, and they go ahhhh,,mmm, and think about that for a minute) and they asked how did I come up with her name and I so wanted to blow smoke up their skirts but I was nice, and explained about having TWO scarlets in the house wasn't gonna work.

Good night my fellow feathered friends. It is past my bed time. I am off tomorrow but I have errands to run and all good stuff! Just thought I would share a couple of laughs with you guys.

I love your stories- I think you should write a book.
Suggestions for a title, anyone?

Sounds like you are living in the country with their comments. LOL

They are probably scratching their heads and wondering if you are crazy or something.
I don't know why people think that about us I really don't....
Just cause we talk to our birds and buy things that we won't even eat ourselves like mustard greens and such.......

lol @ 'sounds real to me' those ringneck screams are very loud. That is so cool though, I would like to be able to do that someday (take certain birds outside places) She must trust you a lot to stay on your shoulder.

Hey I LOVE mustard greens and collard greens, my most favorite veggies. And yes I'm in the country. I love it! I'm 16 miles from town!

And I don't. Someone was asking me about how they were different from another and all I could say was I don't know I don't eat them.

I have to admit I would love to live a little more out in the country especially with a lake or pond or something.

The reason I said country was because of how you described the people and what they said... just reminds me so much of my redneck friends here in NC.

Well you can tell ur friends that mustard greens are a little more bitter than collard greens. And to me collard greens are better.

Oh I love it out here! Red Necks and all! hehehehe
