I have an Alexandrine which has been with us for a little over a month.
Shakti will be 4 months on 06/14. She has adjusted very well, knows a few tricks and steps up just about every time and when she does not want to step up to my hand I use a wooden spoon and she steps up immediately.
Shakti is very friendly and will step up to anyone. She is very social with both children, adults, males or females. She has not even shown a preference at this time. She seems very secure. No matter what we put in her cage, new toy, etc... she goes up to it right away and is never scared of the new stuff.
I know a breeder which at this time is waiting for eggs. I had a dove for about 18 years and it was always an only child. My question is how do I bring a second baby in? Will Shakti be upset? How should I handle this?
I do not want to upset our "happy" home, but I really want to know if I should wait a bit longer? Is it better to introduce a friend while she is still young?
I know with all the experience on this site someone will be able to help me out and do what is best for Shakti.
Thanks!
