Is there any way to know how old Indian Ringnecks are?

I have asked this before (I think) but have been told there is not really a way to tell how old my ringneck is. We don't know how old he is though. We have really bonded (I love him very much) and I was wondering if there is any way to indicate whether he is young or old, or middle aged? Is there any way? By knowing what they look like or their personalility?

Thanks, Krista. =]

Since he has his ring, he is at least 2 years old. Beyond that, unless you have a vet that is willing to guess an age, go with your gut feeling.

Usually the best bet of an age would be if the bird had a leg band, or microchip with that information on it. Without that information, it's all guesswork once the bird is fully mature. Avian vets can give you a rough estimate but it's still just a guess.
