Joey speaks!
Our little man has turned into quite the talker lately! We've started hearing peek-a-boo, good boy, pretty bird, be a good boy, mmmmwuah, wolf-whistles and his name, which comes out Ooey... which is quite possibly the CUTEST thing I've ever heard!
He always says it three times, so it's Ooey, Ooey, Ooey, so darn cute! I guess that "J' sound is kinda tough  We're working on getting video, but every time a camera comes out, he clams up and goes into bird-alert (tall, skinny and sleek bird)... which now that I've typed that, seems a fool-proof way to quiet him down when he gets to screaming... hmmm  Anyway, just had to share with my fellow IRN-slaves that Mr. Joey has adopted english as his second language!

We just talk to him, I never put much faith in those CD's, and this way he learns the words in context... we keep a running commentary for him - what he's being fed, what we're doing, what he's playing with - things like Joey has a red key, or ooo, yummy grapes and of course we tell him when he's being a good boy, and to be a good bird, so he's learned those phrases too

That is neat! I have heard ringnecks talking on youtube, and haha they have such a cute squeaky little voice.

How fun! Did he start talking to you right away, or was he a closet talker first? Gelly would not speak if he could see me for a long time.
