Question Sleep time and Food

Is it necessary to put food and water bowl when parrots are in sleeping cage. I'm mean parrots need 12 hours of sleep. And I have a separate cage for my IRN, so at night I transfer him in it. Do I need to put food and water bowl in his cage?

Water is needed at all times and while I am not sure about food but I do not see a reason not to put some food in the cage.

I also have a separate sleep cage for my IRN. I always have water in it. Because she eats really good at supper time and she gets a pretty good snack before bedtime I do not put any food. I have found that in the mornings she is more eager to eat her pellets if I do not put food at night.

It is a personal preference. If I had a sleep cage I would keep food and water in there at all times, but that’s just me. Just do what you feel is best for you but ALWAYS keep fresh water in the cage.

I have human kids, and I have health issues. There has been more than one time that we've had to rush off to the hospital...without time to think of anything. I'd put food and water into the sleep cage...because you just never know. Usually if it's dark they won't come down anyway...so it would mainly just be getting a 'snack' before going up to the sleep perch (Rayne does this every night) and then eating/drinking in the morning if they need to before going to the 'day cage'. I can't see the harm, but it could be a disaster if you had to leave immediately for some reason....JMO
