She is such a sweet baby. Loves to cuddle.

My husband and I were talking about it and although we would love to get a "big" bird we have decided to stop with the baby GCC. We love to give Shakti a lot of our time, we like to spoil her. Of course with bringing in Dharma we will still give Shakti 100% and 100% to Dharma. We cannot have it any other way.

I think we are done with feathered babies for a long long time. We just want to make sure that they are well taken care of and have the best we can give them which includes vet care. Having more than 2 we feel would take away from our babies.

I think it's great that you're thinking so much of the babies you have now instead of other birds you want! Your birds sound so spoiled! How long until Dharma comes home now?

Dharma comes home TOMORROW!!! I am so excited. I never thought this day would finally get here. Like I said I picked her out before she was even in the egg!
I plan to be there at about 10:30 a.m. (I have her travel home ready) I have to stay for a bit with the breeder as she gives a class on bird care for all her first time clients & at this time she also has Dharma there with us. She says we just sit at the table and talk while the baby gets use to seeing me there. She said if Dharma does not come to me then she brings her to me and let us spend some time together. Then off to the vets we go. I just want to get the trauma out of the way. I also want to make sure everything is good with Dharma. Although I must say from all the research I did about the breeder it seems that her birds are very very healthy and has not had any "incidents". I also spoke to her vet, my vet and she comes highly recommended.

Shakti is my responsibility and I want to make sure I do not bring any sick birds near her.

It sounds like you've picked a very good breeder to get Dharma from! I'm sure everything will go fine, don't worry about it if she doesn't come to you right away, though. :P

Congratulations on Dharma coming home!

Honestly, I think you are making a great choice on keeping with the two birds.

You can give them a lot of time and take them out to different place better than if you had a house full. It will also make it easier if there are any changes in your life like emergencies or something.... to be able to care for them or board them if necessary.

There is a lot to be said for only having a few birds instead of a whole bunch!.
