Welcome Glenn,
Welcome to the world of IRN's they are surely different than any other bird... and within thier own species! Have you tried holding him the eyptian style? Hand up parrellel with the shoulder, elbow down. many birds at thei age don't like walking down and then up again to get to the shoulder. Soon, next coupl of months, he will get to the nippy stage. It is best that he is not a shoulder bird until he passes this time. |

Hi there Glen! I agree with Kathy the egyptian style of holding your IRN might be just the trick! Mine never wants to walk down before going up, he'll just try to lean as far over as he can go without falling off. This is funny to see because he can go perpendicular to my finger! But she's right you want to keep being Top Bird esspecially now while he's a baby and learning his status in the flock. I also find that evertime he tried to walk up to your shoulder if you do some step ups, might help. I find that was the perfect way to train mine. Good luck with him. You chose the perfect pet parrot :-D
