Question Baby Sparrows

About a week and a half ago I found some baby sparrows and have been giving them formula. When is it best that I start feeding them seeds? 2 are almost ready to fly away.

What type of formula have you been giving them??? Parrot formula isn't adequate enough for these chicks, so if you are feeding this, check this link out... http://www.starlingtalk.com/babycare.htm

When their beaks start to harden, and have most of their feathers, you may want to start adding seeds. However, you don't want to let them go until they no longer accept formula and are eating on their own on a seed diet for atleast a week. When you put them outside, be sure to put them where there are other wild birds and a good supply of seed. Hopefully then they could learn from the wild birds...

Are there no wildlife rehabs in your area or????

Why did you begin feeding them in the first place?

Just curious because baby sparrows do "jump" out of their nests. I grew up in the city where sparrows would nest under peoples air-conditioners. The baby's would, even at a young age, land safely from several floors up. The mother usually finds them by their call and continues to bring them food even if the baby's move from where they landed. They seem to be alone and abandoned but they are not. They are still being cared for by the parent bird and should be left where they are.
