Baby Ringneck Dove Question

I have 8 Ringneck Doves that stay at my house outside, freely. One set has had a baby that I call "freedom", being as she was born freely. She is in a hanging flower pot and will be 1 week this Friday. I have changed her bedding as it was poopy and smelly, attracting little flys. My question is, she is real smelly like urine and poop and the little flys are always around her, so should I just leave her there or bring her in and care for her myself? She is being fed and her crop is always full, but I just worry about the flys and the heat as well. Thanks for any advise. Oh and they are definetly Ringnecks, the mama is a real pretty blonde and the daddy is a bit darker.

Elizabeth........If the nest is not sitting in direct sun then I would leave well enough alone as if ya handle the baby/disturb the nest, it might be abandoned & then ya have to crop feed. Unless you know what you are doing & have the instruments and time to handfeed/cropfeed - don't mess with things IMO. The flies are naturally around their nests I assume.

Thanks for the reply. I do handle the baby, talk to him and he stretches his wings and rubs his beak on my finger. Too cute. The mama and daddy seem fine with this and take good care of him. He is in the afternoon sun and pants really hard so I have been moving the planter to another hook about 8 ft away during this time and then move it back when the sun goes down. Again mom and dad seem fine with this. I just did not like the flys and the heat for this baby. I guess I am just attached. All the ringnecks sit on the tree where the feeders are while I fill them up and are pretty used to me. So there not afraid. I will leave Freedom there and hopefully she will be as "somewhat" tame as the rest. Thanks again.
