Dove and Finch bond

Just wanted to share that I have a zebra finch and diamond dove that are the best of friends. The finch often preens the dove. It is a funny, but cute site to see. Years ago, I had to separate my diamond dove from the other two diamond doves, because the pair were beating on the one, so I placed the one with a finch pair. The finch pair had a baby and I guess as the baby grew up he took to the dove and now they are inseparable. They sit/cuddle next to each other and eat together and so on.... Has anyone else had or have an experience where two different types of birds bond like mine have?

Yes- sort of. My little society finch bonded to my canary. Best of buds they would sleep in the same nest, preen each other, sit on the same perch- etc. Too cute.

Our Zebra bonded with DD as well.
Not only she bonded with him, but she also started pulling his feathers out to line out her nest.

My cockatiels bond well with my ringneck doves. Ever so often I see one of the cockatiels trying to get his/her head under the dove's wing. It's the funniest thing because the dove doesn't know what to do and he/she ends up flying to the other side of the flight.

I've seen the doves preening the cockatiels too. Most of the time, however, they ignore each other and stick with their "own kind."
