I've been thinking...

Maybe I won't get a bird of the parrot species...at least not yet. I've been doing research on doves, and I think they may be the right bird for me. And who doesn't love that cooing sound they make? I think I'll get a book on ringneck doves when I go to petco to get my snake some new substrate. I hope they have books about them there. So far, every petco I've gone and I was looking for books on a certian species, they never had them. (Especially parrotlets!) I'm not sure what mutation I'd like to get though...it's too hard to decide! I've narrowed the list to Orange Pearled, some sort of Blonde, Sunkist, or Violet Neck. What do you think is most appealing? I'll still be happy no matter what I get.

EDIT: My prediction was right. I went to petco today and there were no books on doves. But the pionus, Gracie was still there! One of the workers there took her out for a little play time and I got to pet her. I almost forgot how soft bird feathers are...since it's been awhile since I've actually pet a parrot. (I knew someone with a green cheeked conure and we'd take him out to play a lot) They also had the cutest sun conures there! One was dancing whenever someone came by the cage to get their attention. It was the cutest thing!
