lol that used 2 be my old user before i left the forum

since then i bred ringneck doves

but now i am rehoming all my breeding stock.

They can lay as early as 6 months of age, but you don't want that to happen!!! Don't allow her to lay until she's at least 18 months, but preferable two years of age.

If she's becoming a chronic layer, remove stimulating items (i.e., another dove), stop petting her, gradually decrease her daylight hours to 10, move the cage, rearrange what is inside the cage, etc. As a last resort, your avian vet has medicine to stop, or at least slow down, the egg laying.
