Avatars

The animated avatars are great, though there are not many of them.... maybe if we had a gallery of non-animated avatars, simply photos of birds, that people could choose from? One could look all over the internet for some great shots of birds, even find some already made avatars, but lets say that BirdBoards avatars are special??? They could be some of the best photos taken by members, and the bird in the photo turned into an avatar image???

I was just thinking of some ideas that maybe we could do, and well, I did get a bit bored as well...

Monica, the one thing I would be concerned with in having a gallery of avatars is that people will choose the same one as I have seen happen several times already with current avatars. I would be more inclined to let people make their own avatars to get one that is unique and special to them. If they don't have one, they can ask for help in resizing a photo or something.

And some of those birds belong to members - I would hate to step on someone's toes by using their birds' pictures without their permission.

Indeed some people may not want their photos in an avatar (which is why I didn't post them directly into Birdboard.... posted them on another site that I could easily delete the photos if need be), so one could also ask...though the idea was mainly, if they had a larger amount of photos to choose from, would they enjoy looking for one that was more to their liking? Some people have said that we do need more avatars in the past, and if it was alright with the members, this would be a good way to create more avatars...

Alright, maybe it wont be acceptable, but it was a thought!
