Bmp. files

Hi!

I was hoping that for avatar uploads that we could upload bmp files as pictures. I can't seem to get my pictures as avatars because they are all bmp images. Just a suggestion.

It's better to use Gif or JPG as I believe these file formats are actually smaller than BMP... I can't say for sure, but remember reading something about it!

You know you can convert bmps to jpgs with most imaging programs. What do you have to work with, and maybe we can talk you through it?

BMPs just aren't allowed as they are A) Larger, and B)Require more server resources to display.

Ok

The only "imaging" program I have is Paint. I use it to resize the pictures I take from my digital camera. I've tried changing it bmp to gif etc. by typing it into the title, but it never works. It's the only way I can think of...
