Search Suggestion...

...could it be possible to have a "Member Search" on the Member Map? Say I wanted to look up a certain member to see where they are located... that's not really possible, unless I click around 100 times through the vast forests of red icons (especially in the US, where it seems the majority of BB members are living.)

I just think it would be nice to be able to type in for example, "Xavier" in the search engine, and it would show the location of that member.

What d' you think?

I would love that feature too, also if it could bring you into the all posts by "name"

I think it might be easier to have a map in the members profile, of just where THEY alone live... I saw it done in one forum, but I'm not too sure how easily that would be to do here...

I think you can bring up all the posts by a particular member if you use the advanced search feature.

I believe the idea is to see where each member lives if they have put a pin on the map... not about the posts...

Hmmm...I will look into that and see what I can come up with. Not sure if I can interface with the map, but I should be able to interface with member profiles.

I'm only a couple days old with being a member, so I apologize if I ask a question I should have found or figured out.

I'm trying to see if I can find members around my area. I tried with the Member map or searching by area. I know people don't want to have too much detail for anyone to see, but is there a way to find members on a city or state search. It would be nice to communicate with locals in finding places to go for my parrot and local caretaking

Beyond the member map, or looking at peoples locations, there's not really a way to search for people within your area... However, it may help to look in your phone book for bird stores and avian vets and ask them if any of them know of a local bird club. You could even try searching "bird club" with your city and state to see if anything comes up for your area.

You might even try making a post asking for suggestions within your area - some members, even if they don't live in your area, might know of a place they've visited on a trip?
