Do's and Don'ts catagory

If I have missed something here in the forum, please forgive me.
There are many dangers concerning our beloved feathered friends, I have heard many a sad story about a pet dieing and in some cases a cause was unknown at the time. To make aware of the dangers of certain normal home products such as
Burning Teflon pan = death
Fabreese air freshener = death
Glade plug-in air fresheners = death

there are many other, all confirmed cause of death :aiwebs_00

That's a good idea. Also maybe we could include food and plant no-nos.

I agree with Kevin, that's the best place to put it.

Thanks for your positive input,
Education is of most importance when deciding to add a parrot to your family. not only which bird to consider, but the changes in your lifestyle that will be necessary, to me education is of the utmost importance.
Proper diets, minimum cage requirements, and the foods Not to give, also all of the dangers that you will find in most all homes, especially the non bird owner, there is a lot of controversy concerning what is and what is not bird safe such as metals and metal toxicity, like galvanized, the unsafe bird toys coming from over seas. Toys that are too dangerous, supervision of all play items, cages with bad designs that hold potential dangers.
As you can probably tell, I am a parrot advocate and will discourage any potential buyer when the rational is a status symbol or a bird just because it is Pretty.
Because WE have taken these wonderful creatures out of their natural environment and have them in captivity, we must do as much as we can to provide for them what nature has intended.
I could go on and on, but will stop here................... :icon_smil

Wondering if this was merged yet or did we just feel it was a low end concern?

This is actually under development right now. We're trying to figure out the best way to go about it.
