Name of "Reptile Board"
I was just chaecking Birdboards latest "Sister site' Reptile Board, And I thought That since it apparently also includes amphibians a more fitting name would be "Herpboard".
The word herp, (I think it's latin) is often used to encompas both Reptiles and amphibian, and it kind of just sounds better. I would have posted this on the other site, but all of the other posts I saw were spam, and I guessed that there would be almost no one on there that would actually read this. P.S. admins and/or moderators, please move or delete this if it should not be posted on Birdboard

Hi,
I tried to find out what state you are in, but your profile didnt show me. Do you know of anyone that could give a good home to a Iguana? We have given him a good home with a 5 foot x 5 foot x 8 foot cage, but he hates our dogs, so he doesnt get much human interaction and I just feel he is not happy. He is about 1 1/2 yrs old. Let me know if you know of anyone. Thanks from Florida. Quote:

although that is a great idea.. people from other areas of the world may not find the board if the word herp was used... just a thought but over here its just never used i never really came across it until i started on american based boards

i think herpboard would be more appropriate, and sounds way cooler. People who have herps or are interested in herptofauna will know what definately know what it is. Plus I'm sure the makers of the site have keywords so people can find it regardless if they search for herp or reptile or amphibian.

I agree I had never heard of a reptile as a herp and it just would not have as many hits from a search engine. However the webmaster could add herp to the key words that are hidden in the html of a web site. That would of course be up to them..
