Video clip size?

Hi Kevin, thanks for the upgrade! What a huge improvement over the previous 2mb limit! I managed to get one clip of my talented Maui up-it was 4.05MB. I was trying to upload a few larger clips-9-15MB, it won't take them. This is what it says:

Allowable Image Types: jpg,jpeg,png,bmp,gif
mpeg,mpg,avi,asf,wmv,mov,mp3,wav
Maximum File Size: No file size limit.
ZIP file uploads allowed (10.00mb limit).

I thought it meant there was no file size limit EXCEPT for zip files which have a 10mb limit. I tried several times to upload a 9.5MB clip-it wouldn't take it. IT keeps going to the server unavailable page:

Click the Back button to try another link.

This is an issue with the server itself (and not the photo album). The photo album is set to let you upload 600 MB files IF the server will let you. The server, however, will not let you. The setting can be changed, but most hosts won't allow it. I will talk it over with the server guy and see if he'll allow us to edit the php.ini and httpd.conf files to maybe give us longer PHP execution time and larger uploads.

OK, Tiki, I've tried to override a couple of server settings to maybe allow you to have larger uploads. So please try to upload a file that was timing out on you.

Kevin, I just tried to upload a 9.5mb file, it went for about a minute then reverted to the same message I just posted. I may have better luck when I get home from work-5-6pm my time which is around 3 am your time. Maybe the server will be less busy then?

Well, I actually overwrote some of the server settings. But there is one very important one that for some reason I cannot overwrite. There is a variable in the server that says 'Don't process form information if it is larger than X mb' I created a server config file to increase this limit to 20 MB. But for some reason it will not increase, and is staying at 8M(the default limit for PHP & apache web server). The other values, including, max uploaded filesize and max execution time are working just fine, but for some reason that one value isn't. I will keep working on it and will update you.

Kevin, I tried again at about 6pm my time-still no go. My future video clips, I can use my new Kodak DX7590 and those clips will be under 8mb. I just wanted to try to complete the series of my baby cockatiels growing up, I got half of them in last year. I suppose as a last resort, I could "Save for email" but the resolution will deteriorate like the Maui hula dance one. That one should be 15mb at a good resolution but the email one was 4mb. Maybe the new version of VB will solve the problem? If you think it will, I can wait, otherwise I can use the "Save for email" option. Thanks for trying!

No, the problem does in fact lie in the settings of the server. I'm still trying to overwrite those settings, and I may get somewhere with it after I get off work tonight. Also, I know you've sent me some of your videos before, and I don't believe I ever got to post them. So if you wanted to send me the large ones that won't post, I can get them in the album for you. just let me know.
