How do you get the Youtube video to embed? (so you can see the first frame and the little play button rather than just the link).
I have tried pasting the code given in the "embed" portion of youtube, but I am missing something I guess.
There must be some code I am not including -

I could be wrong but I think that every time I have seen the little promo pic in the post it has linked to a photobucket account.

Youtube people seem to just use links.

After doing some investigating of the HTML codes used by flickr, youtube and photobucket..

The photobucket is not actually an embedded video but a link to the html which is a picture from the video. Instead of clicking on a word for link, you click on the picture.

I don't think the forum supports any old HTML because I have tried using some code before for cute icons which did not work.

With this in mind, it is possible to do but it is a 2 step process. Also, there is no frame as that is part of the Image automatically generated by photobucket when you select the "insert thumbnail view" option

Step 1. On the menu screen of Youtube, (not with the video playing!) RIGHT CLICK on the image and select OPEN IMAGE IN NEW TAB. When in the new tab, RIGHT CLICK on the image and select COPY IMAGE ADDRESS.
Scoot back here to Birdboard and in an ADVANCED window, use the INSERT IMAGE button (with the mountains) and PASTE the image address.

Step 2 Now you can play the video and use the url code they give you (above the embed code) and COPY that.
Return to birdboard and SELECT the IMAGE CODE you just pasted before. Click on the INSERT LINK button and enter the video link you have just copied.

It should look like this... (without the spaces)

As I've said in my post though it would be so much easier if admin would facilitate the use of [yt] [/yt] tags like just about every other forum does.
