My apologies to the Mods

I'm sorry I ruffled so many feathers with my query. As I said, I am a Mod, Super Mod and Admin on four different forums, all on a volunteer basis. I know how much work is involved.

There is obviously something very serious and very negative going on behind the scenes to cause such a strong reaction to a simple question. I hope it all works out for everyone.

IMHO, it's time to get out when it stops being fun. Something to consider.

YOU know how much work is involved? Wow..there must not be enough work on all four of the forums you mentioned combined to keep YOU busy since you had to come here and tell another batch of mods how to conduct their duties?

Most of the people on here are mature, and we do have healthy debates, (some unhealthy ones too..but when you have this big of a gathering of different cultures, ages, and opinions..it's bound to happen!) But back to my point..because this is a forum for healthy debates, and learning this means that there shouldn't be a lot of censoring, deleting and muffling other people's opinons (guidance yes, but not censorship).

IMO, of all the forums that I have visited, I consider this one of the mentally healthiest. I believe that it will last longer than the censorship forums, the clique forums, and the "Do It My Way" forums because they foster a climate of learning. However, when you do try to let people voice their opinions, some BS will always get though..yours did didn't it?

I just want to say that I am new here, and have no complaints. I am a member of several forums, and I find this one to be on par with most I participate in, meaning 90% good people with good intentions, and the other 10% made up of a variety ranging from troll trouble-makers to well meaning, yet confused new members. I think that when people work really hard to do something, and do it well, like the mods do, and then a newbie comes and questions their actions, a less than favorable response is to be expected. I for one, appreciate how well moderated this board is for a board with so much activity. I am by no means trying to kiss booty, I am just sharing my feelings, as I have been in the mod seat, and it isn't easy to keep everyone happy all the time, and I am stunned by the level of content the mods continue to make available. I know the number of spammers and trolls increases as the membership does, and forums can be easily bogged down, and all relevant posts lost in the avalanche of crap.

John, thank you for your apology, and again I am closing this thread before it blows into something ugly. Not because you apologized, but because some have nothing better to do than look for an opening to unleash their babble.

Thanx to everyone who added to this thread, old members & new.

We are trying very hard to keep things calm in here without having to close threads, send warnings, or ban people. That is not what we are here to do.

The actions of a few over the past few months have caused the Mod team to watch everything very closely and stop it before it gets out of hand.

Please, if you have a disagreement with another member regarding a comment they made, please use the PM feature.

If you have a big problem with another member, please use the ignore feature.

If you anything at all you would like to voice regarding the forum or it's members, please PM or e mail a Moderator. We are here for you & your birds.

We honestly are not trying to make this a heavily policed forum. We have been very lax, and that could be the reaason it has gotten so bad on here lately. We are on top of things now.

Please express your opinions, give your advice, ask your questions, but PLEASE do it in a respectfull manner.

Remember....treat people the way you would like to be treated....with respect, everyone deserves that.

It's better for you, it's better for us, and it's certainly better for our beloved birds.
