Sam

When I recieved Sam about 3 months ago now he had a little chunk missing from his beak, just before the end on the left side, doesn't seem to affect him in any way but i was wondering if it would ever fill back in? He eats and drinks just fine but I was also wondering if playing with his toys could damage his beak more. I think from his diet being so poor before I got him that it made his beak a bit brittle...seems to be tough enough now and haven't seen any signs of more damage but just wondering...just thought that I would add that all his toys are soft plastic and rubberish....nothing too small that he could swallow...his favorite right now is a big cat ball with another ball inside that with a bell in it....cuter than cute when he is busy tossing it around but I can't help worrying about that beak.

more pics!! LOL i wouldnt worry TOO much about his beak. sweetpea sometimes bangs her beak on the cage bars or her perches and toys, so she rubbed a little dent on the top of it, lol. if your toucan was kept with other birds, one of the others might have pecked or bitten your bird's beak idk what the indent looks like, so you should prob have a vet see him to make sure nothing medical could be causing it. their beaks arent as hard as we think they are either, lol. they may be huge, but to me, it seems like they are a bit softer than parrot beaks :(
