Wing clipping question
Ok all. Got a question that has been on my mind for the past couple of weeks. My toucan Sam is doing well and seems happy enough. I have written before that his left wing has no flight feathers on it, due to, I believe, clipping the feathers before they ever developed properly(not by me, his previous owner). They try to grow and he just seems to pull them out...they may fall out actually as it seems like he is just preening them, anyhow, his right wing seems fine but I am wondering if I should clip the flight feathers on this wing as well to balance him out. He has been like this since I have had him and seems quite well adjusted to his unblanced state. He drops like a rock when he does try to fly and really doesn't seem to get much lift off the other wing. I am wondering if it is necessary or not. What are all of your opinions on this?
